JOB SUMMARY
Performs a variety of tasks such as mowing,edging,spraying,ballfield maintenance,sprinkler installation,playground equipment installation,and general maintenance work in all departmental facilities depending on assignment.
 
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
Three months of experience in construction work or general maintenance
 
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Valid Texas Drivers License
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
1.            Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
2.            Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or authorities, or members of the local business community.
 
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
1.            Ability to establish and meet deadlines.
2.            Self motivated.
3.            Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with supervisors and other personnel.
4.            Demonstrate a willingness to perform duties in a team environment.

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to operate various machines, drive vehicles, and/or equipment; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 (eighty) pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT             
The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  Works outside and is exposed to extreme heat, cold and temperature swings.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS                 
 
1.     Performs maintenance work on ball fields and all other park areas         
2.     Repairs leaks in parks irrigation systems.
3.     Fertilizes parks fields
4.     Collects trash at all area parks.
5.     Cleans and changes trash barrels.
6.     Mow and weed eat sports fields and parks as needed
7.   Conducts extra park and ball field cleaning and maintenance activities during special events and game season.
8.     Uses power sprayer to clean restrooms.
9.     Replaces dome posts which line area streets and paths.
10.   Fills in for equipment operators when necessary.
11.  Prepares sportsfields for league play and tournaments
12.  Performs electrical repairs and lays concrete as directed
