JOB SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Managing Director of Communications, the Marketing and Programs Support Strategist is responsible for supporting the marketing and programs initiatives of the Town and those developed by the Business Development Manager, the Managing Director of Communications, and the Aquatics Division and will assist with the overall planning, execution, promotion, and coordination of marketing strategies for The Lakefront™ District, The Cove at The Lakefront™, The Rec at The Lakefront, and events associated with these amenities to advance their brands.

This position will work closely with the Business Development Manager and the Managing Director of Communications to ensure the deadlines of marketing initiatives are met with regard to digital content, social media campaigns, email marketing, print marketing, radio/TV advertising, and other marketing materials related to Town departments, its amenities, and its brands. This role will create, curate, and implement digital content/art, print, photo, video, and layout design for marketing materials with respect to the department’s design standards and processes to produce consistent and high-quality results. Ensures that project and department milestones and goals are met and adheres to approved budgets. Researches, strategize, coordinates, and executes ad place for the Town’s programs and brands in digital, print, billboard, radio, and TV platforms. Provides consistent and timely reports detailing the successes and failures of marketing/communications campaigns and strategies. Works closely with the Managing Director of Communications, the Business Development Manager, the Creative Marketing and Social Media Coordinator, the Little Elm Economic Development Corporation, the Little Elm Chamber of Commerce, Lakefront businesses and developments, and other entities.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communication, or related field, and three (3) years of related experience. Social Media strategy experience desired.


LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

  1. Must be bondable.
  2. Valid Texas Driver’s License.

  1. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  2. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or authorities, or members of the local business community.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Develops, curates, and produces content related to Town departments, as well as The Lakefront™ District, The Cove at the Lakefront™, The Rec at the Lakefront, and the events and programs associated with these amenities for a wide variety of printed and digital communication channels, which may include: writing copy for print, web, radio, and television; designing, editing, and overseeing the production of collateral materials; attending project and program meetings and working as part of a team; and/or, performing other related activities.
  2. Ensures that marketing strategies are executed within appropriate time frames with regard to the Town editorial calendar and the editorial calendars of its departments.
  3. Researches and identifies marketing opportunities, appropriate markets, and best ad placement with regard to ROI for platforms such as radio/TV, digital, Google Ads, social media, and print.
  4. Provides regular reporting regarding the success of advertising and marketing efforts with regard to ROI, reach/views, engagement.
  5. Works to enhance the experience for Lakefront District visitors through marketing and advertising to increase awareness of the District.
  6. Works within marketing budgets, event plans and layouts, and helps to support operational needs for events and programs of each amenity.
  7. Creates, manages, and monitors all social media channels related to each amenity and consults with management staff to create, update, revise, and manage web content; perform regular reviews of web site pages to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and relevance.
  8. Works with the Communications Department, the Little Elm Economic Development Corporation, the Town of Little Elm, Little Elm Chamber of Commerce, and other promoters/vendors while supporting events and programs.
  9. Helps to plan, facilitate, and review advertising and public education campaigns about each amenity to attract visitors to the area.
  10. Provides regular reporting regarding marketing efforts and adjusts marketing plans when necessary to ensure success.
  11. Participates in the planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of special events for amenity.
  12. Participates in/on a variety of meetings, committees, teams, and/or other related groups to provide support and guidance each amenity’s marketing opportunities and plans. Also participates in face-to-face communications with community stakeholders, local merchants, department heads, and vendors.
  13. Performs various administrative activities in support of Lakefront District operations and goals, including database management.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.
  15. Assists other divisions as needed.
