JOB SUMMARY
The Court Supervisor directly supervises the day-to-day activities of the Court Clerk and Deputy Court Clerks in the Municipal Court.  Responsible for preparation of the docket; receipt and recording the payment of court fees and/or fines; and routine communication with the Municipal Court Judge and Town Prosecutor.  Responsible for preparation of case folders, postings, and files, or other relevant court documents. 
 
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
Associates degree in related field, plus two (2) years relevant experience plus professional certification; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
1.            Must be bondable.
2.            Municipal Court Clerk Certification Level I required;  prefer Level II Certification or ability to obtain within 18 months      of employment.
3.            Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
1.            Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; prefer bilingual language skills
2.            Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or authorities, or members of the local business community.
 
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES & REQUIREMENTS
1.            Ability to establish and meet deadlines.
2.            Self motivated.
3.            Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with supervisors and other personnel.
4.            Demonstrate a willingness to perform duties in a team environment.

6.            Skills coordinating and managing multiple projects and/or assignments.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to operate various machines and/or equipment; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee frequently is required to talk and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT             
The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  Primarily office/courtroom environment.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS                 
 
1.            Supervision of Municipal Court daily operations and evaluation of performance
2.            Collects and supervises the collection of municipal court fees and/or fines and records amounts collected.
2.            Responsible for preparation of court docket.
3.            Maintain records of, and account for, disposition of bonds.
4.            Administers and oversees issuance of warrants and court ordered failure to appear citations.
4.            Responsible for preparation of reports to appropriate State agencies.
5.            Maintain inventory of records of traffic violations and citation books issued to police officers.
6.            Accounts for monies collected by the municipal court on a daily basis.
7.            Answers questions and gives information, either by telephone or in person, to citizens, attorneys, litigants, and other law enforcement or state agencies.
8.            Provide back-up assistance to Utility Billing Department by answering telephones, receipting payments, and related computer data entry.
9.            Establish and maintain effective working relationship with other departments, outside agencies and the general public.
10.          Responsible for preparation of routine monthly reports to management regarding court activity.
11.          Administers oaths.
