JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision of the Administrative Officer (Support Services), serving as the central contact for town employees and managers regarding COVID-19 exposure, contact tracing, leave status including Workers Compensation, and return to work questions and protocol. Tracks employees and status and provides reporting as necessary.

The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbent(s) in this position. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties in this description and incumbent(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

  1. Requires High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Must hold State of Texas Paramedic certification.
  3. No experience required – desired experience in the following:
    1. Emergency Medical Service response
    2. Infectious disease control
    3. Pandemic response and protocols
    4. Vaccination protocols
    5. Emergency Management mindset

Desired experience within EMS response, Emergency Management mindset, and Pandemic Response.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

  1. Must be bondable
  2. TDSHS EMT-Paramedic or NREMT-Paramedic

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  1. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

  1. Ability to establish and meet deadlines.
  2. Self motivated.
  3. Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with supervisors and other personnel.
  4. Demonstrate a willingness to perform duties in a team environment.
  5. Knowledge and skill in the use of a computer and Microsoft products.
  6. Skills coordinating and managing multiple projects and/or assignments.

REASONING ABILITY

  1. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished by management in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  2. Comprehensive ability to disseminate information quickly and perform tasks under pressure with short deadlines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to operate various machines and/or equipment; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Must possess the visual acuity to prepare data and statistics, work with accounting processes, operate a computer terminal, use measurement devices, and do extensive reading. Possible exposure to employees exhibiting symptoms of a virus and blood-borne pathogens.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The job is primarily an office environment with occasional contact with employees to conduct testing where one could come in contact with communicable diseases.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. The candidate must be highly motivated and strive for success by demonstrating Little Elm’s Core Values of Integrity, Customer Service, Efficiency, and Innovation.
  2. Serves as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding procedures for current pandemic exposures and determine if the employee(s) are positive, high risk, or low risk according to the towns approved isolation chart.
  3. Communicates requirements for return to work for job related exposures and high risk employees.
  4. Coordinates with employees with completing necessary documentation as required for Workers Compensation Claims with the towns Human Resource Department.
  5. Assist with coordinating viral testing for all employees with Fire Department personnel or conduct testing if personnel are not available.
  6. Assist with other sites available for viral testing for employees and answer testing questions.
  7. Maintain all relative documentation, policies, presentations, and tracking documents as needed.
  8. Ensures compliance with Federal, State and Town rules, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to health, benefits, and pandemic guidelines.
  9. Work is generally provided during normal business hours and may require some activity on evenings and weekends.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned or required.
