JOB SUMMARY

The Fall/Winter Seasonal Maintenance Worker will be responsible for working seasonal events. This position may also assist Parks Maintenance setting up and breaking down the events.

The Fall/Winter Seasonal Maintenance Worker will have an opportunity to work in a community that is one of the fastest growing and most exciting suburbs in the USA. EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

Must be 17 years of age.

 

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

  1. Must be bondable.
  2. Possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  1. Ability to communicate effectively.
  2. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Interact with residents and visitors of the park.
  2. Assist with setup and break down of both Pumpkin Hollow and Christmas
  3. Assist with any traffic issues, lighting issues and power issues associated with Pumpkin Hollow and the Christmas displays.
  4. Prepare the park during the opening and closing of the events.
  5. Responsible for helping residents and visitors enjoy their Fall/Christmas event experience.
  6. Report violations to Police Officer on duty.
  7. Must be able to work extra hours as needed. (Special Events, holidays, and other events).
  8. Must be able to work Saturday and Sunday shifts.
  9. Must be able to work holidays and holiday weekends.
  10. Must be able to work evenings.
  11. Report to Crew Leaders about any issues with other employees, visitors, or any problem seen in the park.
  12. Picks up and removes trash from beaches, parks, greenbelts, creeks, drainage areas, ponds, right-of-ways, and/or other open spaces.
  13. Inspects assigned areas, corrects and/or reports safety hazards.
  14. Operates a variety of hand and power tools and equipment including hand and power mowers, small tractors, generators, line trimmers, spreaders, edger’s, blowers, hedge trimmers, chain saws, rakes, shovels, hoes, brooms and other tools.
  15. Drives a variety of trucks and other vehicles.
  16. Observes safe work methods and uses safety equipment. Secures work sites from hazards as needed.
  17. Performs a wide variety of activities in support of the events during the holidays.
  18. Performs other duties as assigned.

  1. Knowledge of safety precautions pertaining to the work.
  2. Knowledge of practices and procedures of general maintenance work.
  3. Knowledge in utilizing landscaping tools and equipment.
  4. Skilled in writing, reading and comprehending instructions in English.
  5. Skilled in performing varied vegetation control and landscape maintenance work in a safe, efficient manner.
  6. Skilled in performing manual labor.
  7. Skilled in operating, maintaining, and repairing a variety of hand and power tools.
  8. Skilled in communicating effectively with a variety of individuals.
  9. As a leader who must operate under the Town’s four Core Values of Integrity, Customer Service, Efficiency and Innovation.

 

REASONING ABILITY

  1. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished by management in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Frequent climbing, balancing, reaching, sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, walking, and talking.
  2. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds.
  3. Working in outdoor locations; heat and cold.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  1. Work is typically performed in an outdoor environment, with prolonged exposure to adverse weather conditions.
  2. Work is performed near moving mechanical parts.
  3. Work is primarily performed on nights and weekends.
  4. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock, vibration, fumes, and airborne particles.
